Halloween (2018)

Halloween Spooktacular continues with our Third entry into that sprawling Franchise. Listener beware, there be spoilers in the pod.

Halloween 2018 is a retcon sequel which completely obliterates every movie in between the one from 1978 and 2018. We chat about it! We make jokes about it! We all wear Michael Myers masks for the whole recording but don’t mention it or bring it up at all! Please download wherever you get your pods and listen to your heart’s content.

If you like what you hear, please consider giving us a 5-star rating and leaving a review on Apple Pod casts, but liking, subscribing and favouriting the pod on your platform of choice helps too. A review only takes a minute to write and helps us rise in the charts. You may also interact with us on our social media platforms. Halloween 2

There are spoilers in this episode!!!

Spooky Halloween season continues, friends with our mini-series on the Halloween movie franchise. To keep ourselves from getting confused we picked the first of the direct sequels as we join Michael Myers on that same Halloween night in… 1979? No, 1978 as he goes along his merry way stabbing and murdering and being inexplicably invisible to the citizens of Haddonfield Illinois. Listen now to find out what WE thought of the movie and tell us what YOU think. Send us a DM on Instagram @nothingtofearpodcast, a tweet @nothingtofearp1 or an email at nothingtofearpodcast@gmail.com or send ME a DM over there on the Instas @billie_by_design. We love hearing from you.

Thanks to Alex for the theme music as always. Ya nailed it again. Do you know he plays it live every time?

Thank you so much to Katie Rogers @put_thatdown for all your great work designing the logo and helping me with merch!

Halloween (1978)

Spooky Halloween (season), Everyone!

This week we are embarking on a 4 week adventure into the horror film legacy that is the Halloween franchise. We’re talking about John Carpenter’s original entry which introduces us to Michael Myers and his creepy, silent, relentless killing behaviour. Obviously, as with every podcast there will be spoilers for this movie (and probably some others). For the month of October we are going to be selecting different entries of the Halloween franchise ranging from the good ones, to…..less good ones (cough. season of the witch).

Thanks for listening and if you could leave us a nice review over at Apple podcasts and chuck 5 stars onto it, that would be excellent! We love all of our listeners. Come on and follow us on Instagram @nothingtofearpodcast, DM us and tell us something you’re cheering. Use the Hastag #somethingtocheer and we can shout you out! You can also send us an email over at nothingtofearpodcast@gmail.com and you can tweet at us @nothingtofearp1 on Twitter. You can also follow me on Instagram @billie_by_design where I mostly post about being trans and what that’s like. But sometimes I go live and cook with people which is a lot of fun.

Our music was written by Alex Wan

Our logo was designed by the wonderful Katie Rogers of @put_thatdown

We also have merchandise available for you to buy! The wonderful logo has been uploaded to our store at teepublic and you can get it on a shirt, phone case, facemask or throw pillow! Click the link on our Instagram bio to find them!

Rec

This episode contains spoilers for the movie we are discussing!

This week the Nothing to Fear trio had the opportunity to record our episode as part of a ride along with the local fire department. Safe to say that things got a bit weird and editing out all the screams and death was a challenge. But we’re professionals so we make it work!

We’re talking about the 2007 Spanish Language horror movie, REC. Billie gets super duper scared, Alex works on coming up with word play and Luke bridges the gap between this movie and it’s American counterpart called Quarantine.

Join us all! And if you like hearing my voice and want to listen to a podcast where I am a guest, take a listen of the latest episode of Really True Fiction. I sit down with Luke and his cousin David as we talk for close to three hours about the Stephen Kind, post-plague survival novel The Stand. It was a ton of fun. Click through to follow the link!

You can follow Nothing to Fear on instagram @nothingtofearpodcast, you can send us a tweet @nothingtofearp1 or send us an email at nothingtofearpodcast@gmail.com. You can also follow me and talk to me over on instagram @billie_by_design.

Thank you all for listening. If you have a moment please leave us a 5-star review over on Apple Podcasts. Those things are the best way to grow the show and tell your friends about us. You don’t have to like horror movies in order to listen.

Thanks to Katie Rogers of @put_thatdown for the design of our logo.

Thank you to Alex Wan for the musical sting for our podcast. He’s great.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

This Podcast contains spoilers!

In this week’s horror outing, Billie, Luke and Alex take a trip to rural Texas, taking in the sights, talking to the locals, visiting unique furniture craftsmen and sampling the local cuisine with Leatherface as our guide. Sure he’s a bit free with the chain sawing and he’s not much for words but there’s nothing like seeing a place with a local as your tour guide. (end sarcasm)

We’re talking all about the first Texas Chain Saw Massacre this week! Tobe Hooper directs a chilling film that leaves the group confused, spooked and thoroughly entertained. Here’s hoping this podcast does the trick as well.

If you’re loving the show please let us know by giving us a 5-star review over on Apple Podcasts or liking or subscribing to the podcast wherever you end up listening. We do enjoy hearing from you all. Follow the show on instagram @nothingtofearpodcast or send us a tweet @nothintofearp1. You can always email us with Something you’re cheering, a correction, a thought or a question. We’d love to hear from you over on nothingtofearpodcast@gmail.com.

The VVitch

This Podcast contains Spoilers!

This week, on Nothing to Fear, the crew takes a look into the 2015 directorial debut of Robert Eggers with The VVitch. Join us as we discuss this tense, creepy slice of life movie set in 1600s New England. You may ask yourself, are we going to speak in period accents the whole time? Well, List well all ye, verily we speakst true and pure. Ugh. No way. We are not that committed to a bit. However we do talk about Children’s educator Mr Slim Goodbody for way longer than I ever thought we would. So there’s that.

Tune in for a similar quality of entertainment you’ve come to expect from this little Horror movie pod. Thanks for listening and if you do enjoy us, tell your friends about us! We love to hear from people and we’d love to reach as many folks as possible.

If you like the show you can leave us a review (5 stars is preferred but we’ll take em all) on Apple Podcasts or where ever you listen. It is so helpful for new podcasts like ours to gain visibility. Silent Hill

This podcast contains spoilers for the movie, Silent Hill.

Shh. Everyone be quiet. This week, Luke, Billie and, Alex drive on out to West Virginia to an elevated town where everything is pretty quiet. Join us as we make siren noises, ponder as to whether or not a good movie based on a video game will ever be made and get creeped out by an old, spooky church leader. Stick around for Something to Cheer at the end

Event Horizon

The team over at Nothing to Fear, blasted off into space this week to spend some good quality time with the crew of the Lewis and Clark as we discuss the 1997 space horror movie, Event Horizon.

There are spoilers in this episode for the movie we are discussing and potentially other small things cropping up along the way. Probably Star Wars. It’s fairly safe to assume there’ll be a Star Wars reference and spoiler in there at some stage.

If you want to get a head’s up on any potential triggers in the episode, head on over to Does the Dog Die to prepare yourselves.
